Like anything else new, practice makes perfect! With our awesome customer feedback and our dedicated team members, we have pulled together a list of tips for our beginners.
We have a lot of great resources for how to apply, including YouTube videos and liquids care videos on Instagram that I have linked below. Also, the 4 biggest tips are:
1. Applying thin Pro Base Step 1 layers - This will keep your manicure from getting thick and chunky. My first few manicures were a hot mess because I used so much pro base, which the powder directly adheres to causing your manicure to look super chunky. Fight the temptation to do thicker pro base layers!
2. The 3/4th method - Don't apply pro base all the way up the nail the first time. Apply pro base 3/4 of the way up your nail below your cuticle and then dip. The next layer of pro base, apply a little higher up and dip. This will keep your layers nice and even and not let them get too thick near your cuticle.
3. Cleaning up the Pro base around your cuticle/nail edges before dipping - You can use a toothpick or wooden utensil to clean up any Pro base that has gotten too close to your cuticle/nail edges before dipping into powder. If you get pro base on your cuticle, when your nail starts to grow out, your manicure will be prone to lifting (and not lasting as long!) because there will be a little space for water and hair to get into.
4. Making sure to buff well after your first layer of Activator dries. This is when you can really go in and fix any mistakes you may have made by smoothing out. A smooth buff after your first Activator layer makes your Finish Gel shiny.
These 4 tips have helped my manicures last so much longer from when I first started!
Here are the YouTube videos. It is often helpful to apply along with the video (pausing as you go) when you are learning.
